Residents of Abuja yesterday, attacked a gang alleged to have abducted a woman and her child around Wuse 2 area.
In a statement by Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command Abuja Spokesman, Mariam Yusuf, one of the suspects died after he was set ablaze while the other sustained injuries and was receiving treatment.
Yusuf however said that investigations revealed it was a case of “one chance robbery”.
She added that the suspects attempted to defraud their victim in a painted taxi with reg no. KUJ 959 AQ.
Yusuf said, “The Commissioner of Police CP Bala Ciroma has ordered a discreet investigation into the incident and appealed to members of the public to shun jungle justice.”
