The Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola has attributed fatal road accidents on Nigeria’s highways to reckless driving and not bad roads as claimed by most road users.
Fashola at a workshop in Abuja said road accidents are largely due to speeding and the recklessness of drivers, as no driver speeds on a bad road.
The Minister disclosed that while injuries and avoidable accidents that occurred daily on highways were regrettable, he promised that Federal Government would soon embark on the deployment of manpower for the erection of additional road signs to provide the required guidance, support and direction to road users.
