Disgruntled voters and youths have taken to the streets in Kano State following the declaration of All Progressives Congress’ candidate, Abdullahi Ganduje, as the winner of the Kano State Governorship Election.
The Independent Electoral Commission on Sunday night announced the incumbent governor as the winner – returning him to a second term in office.
However, violence erupted after the aggrieved people turned out in large numbers and were desperate to force their way into the state INEC office.
Reports indicate that irate youths have blocked major roads in Kano State and residents are fearful. Residents of Sabongari, an area very close to the INEC office, were forced indoors to avoid being attacked.
INEC had announced the APC Candidate, Abdullahi Ganduje garnered 1,033,695, while PDP’s Abba Kabir scored 1,024,713 votes.
