There was excitement at Baringo County, one of the 47 Counties of Kenya when a Chineese Mining Company included 20 cartons of beer as part of food aid to the hungry residents in the county.
The Company, Chuanshan International Mining Company said it decided to include beer because villagers enjoy it.
The villagers cheered and clapped after it was announced that they would also be getting the alcohol.
Some of the residents said the addition of the beer with the food item will make them happy and forget many of their problems.
At least two people have died of hunger in Baringo County in the last two months. The government released Sh2 billion to cushion Kenyans against the long, dry spell.
