The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) said its ‘Operation Diran Mikiya’, Air Task Force (ATF) destroyed the camp of a major kingpin, Lawal.
NAF neutralised about 20 bandits near Rugu Forest in Zamfara.
Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information said that his airmen executed a ‘dawn attack’ against the bandits after credible intelligent surveillance.
Air Commodore added that the Alpha Jet strikes had a direct hit on the camp destroying fuel storage, arms, explosives and other logistics supplies.
Ibikunle said the reason for the success was the synergy between Joint Task Force with surface forces and other security agencies in order to sustain its operations to flush the bandits out of North West in Nigeria.
