The Appeal Court, Abuja has strucked out the Appeal filed by Justice Walter Onnoghen over his conviction by the CCT.
The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) had convicted Onnoghen on six counts bordering on false assets declaration.
The tribunal ordered that he should be removed from office and banned him from holding public office for 10 years.
It also ordered the forfeiture of the money in the five accounts which the defendant failed to declare as part of his assets.
However, Justice Walter Onnoghen approached the appeal court to declar that the lower tribunal lacks jurisdiction to entertain the case.
Onnoghen is also asking the appeal court for an order declaring that the tribunal ought to have recuse itself from proceedings before it among others.
However, the three man panel of justices ruled that Onnoghen’s appeals are “incoherent, lacking in merit and based on mere speculation”.

INCOMPETENT.
The appeal court also ruled that Onnoghen's appeal against the warrant issued him by the CCT in February was incompetent as it had insufficient records.
It dismissed the appeal as irrelevant since the former CJN had already appeared before it.
