The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) disclosed plans to protest against the Minister Labour, Chris Ngige and members of his family following an attack on some labour leaders in Abuja.
The NLC leaders said it had declared total war on the minister after an attack by suspected thugs on labour while the picketing outside his private residence in Abuja on Wednesday.
NLC said it started mobilising it members for a national protest against the treatment meted out on them ‘by the minister’.
“We are coming prepared for him. The fundamental right of people to protest and assemble is sacrosanct. The minister tried to undermine the rights of workers. His son attacked the workers.
“Anywhere and everywhere himself or members of his family are seen by workers, even at the airport where we have our workers, he should be attacked.
“We have formally reported to the Police and Department of State Services, DSS,” the NLC said.
