For insisting godfathers in Lagos must be retired in 2023, the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has fired back at the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai saying the party’s National Leader, Bola will remain the political arrowhead of the party not only in Lagos but the country at large.
El-Rufai, who recently said he overcame the carnage of godfatherism in his state, urged Lagos State to do the same.
However, the Lagos State chapter of APC reacted saying those against Tinubu really wished they were like him.
“They want to be like Asiwaju, they want to command respect, they want the world to accept them the way they have accepted Asiwaju, they want to get great followers like Asiwaju BAT, they want to be admired the way people admire Asiwaju, but in actions and deeds, they are not like Asiwaju. In character and intolerance, they are not like Asiwaju.”
Despite the barrage of condemnation that greeted his comment, governor Nasir El-Rufai insisted he owed nobody an apology, saying anyone who was offended by what he said should do ‘his worst’.
