Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka defended the position of Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo over his comment that activities of Boko Haram and herdsmen in Nigeria are now West African Fulanisation and Islamisation agenda.
Soyinka, known for being a major critic of the former President said at an event that rather than dismiss Obasanjo’s comment, the government should deal with its substance.
Federal Government had while reacting to Obasanjo’s comment stated that the former President contributed to Boko Haram’s reign in Nigeria.
However Soyinka advised that the Buhari’s administration to put aside OBJ’s language but should deal with the substance.
“Everybody knows me and Obasanjo, and I think we should be careful not to be too dismissive or abrasive. The language must be put aside and let us deal with the substance. Let us analyse carefully what the (former) president has said.
PDP Stalwarts, Femi Fani-Kayode and Reno Omokri also commended the duo of Soyinka and Obasanjo for being on the same page on the issue.

I must commend Professor Wole Soyinka for putting aside his well known animus for former President Olusegun Obasanjo, to agree with him on his comments on herdsmen and Boko Haram and their Islamisation agenda and condemning the @MBuhari government. That took courage! #RenosDarts pic.twitter.com/txbV950FeK

I am glad that Baba OBJ and Prof. Wole Soyinka agree on one thing: that the Fulanisation agenda is real. I am glad that they have both cultivated the sincerity of purpose and courage to join the rest of us and speak out against this great evil that seeks to consumme our nation.
