The PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar has raised the alarm on alleged plans to smear his personality.
Atiku raised this alarm saying there is an anti-democratic plot orchestrated by some agents to create conflict targeted at attacking his reputation.
Abubakar raised the alarm in a statement issued by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, saying that “we are abreast of some plans to plant fictitious stories in some mushroom media outlets aimed at discrediting Atiku and his political party, the PDP.”
Ibe said that it was crucial to alert the general public of the demonic plan which will not be in the best interest of the country to disrupt the peace and security of Nigeria to score cheap political goals.
He said that it was out of character for senior administration officials to make calculated comments to tarnish the image of Abubakar, and the government did not take action.
However, Abubakar demanded that the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed to tender an apology to him and the PDP, saying that an investigative report by the Premium times shows that there was no evidence to prove Lai Mohammed’s claim that the PDP planned to upstage the government.
