Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has decried the demolition of the Akachi (Hand of God) Monuments in the State.
Okorocha also denied media reports of his purported arrest by the EFCC.
RootsTv, had in an exclusive interview with the spokesperson of the EFCC, Tony Orilade denied the report of Okorocha’s arrest saying it was fake news.
The former governor blamed the new administration for being behind “the false arrest claim”.
“We won’t delay stating that the story of their arrest is not true. It is totally false. It has no iota or atom of truth,” Orilade said.
“Simply put, former Governor Rochas Okorocha, the wife Nneoma and brother Okey, have not been arrested by the crime commission. This is the truth of the matter.
“The PDP in the state had written and sponsored a lot of petitions to agencies and commissions against the former governor. They had told their supporters that the former governor would be whisked away by the EFCC hours after the inauguration on May 29, 2019 and that is the reason behind this falsehood.”
On the demolition of monuments, Okorocha said the idea of erecting the building was to bring people of the State closer but “time will tell” whether this was a fruitful exercise.
