The Kano State Government cancelled the annual traditional Sallah event popularly known as ‘Hawan Nassarawa, slated for Thursday, June 6, for security reasons.
The Governor said that the traditional annual event was cancelled after a security meeting with the heads of all security agencies, concerning all Sallah celebrations.
He said this was because of an intelligence report which suggested there could be due disruption of peace. The security of the people of Kano state was paramount, as a result, ‘Hawan Nassarawa’ was cancelled.
Ganduje duly informed the Kano Emirate Council of the intelligence report and the cancellation of the event.
