The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has labeled the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the most corrupt Institution in Nigeria.
This is sequel to the claim by INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu that the Commission is the most improved service institution in Nigeria.
PDP said in a statement said “INEC in reality has become the most debased, degraded and corrupted institution, particularly with the rigging of the 2019 Presidential election”.
The PDP says in making such “reckless claims at a time Nigerians and the international community are in huge disappointment over the irregularities, violation of rules, alteration of results and outright rigging that characterized the last elections, Prof. Yakubu has further confirmed that the commission under his watch is decadent and compromised.
PDP insisted that all indices have shown that the Electoral body under Yakubu’s watch performed far below the bar in the 2019 elections.
The PDP and its Candidate, Atiku Abubakar are challenging the result of the February 23, 2019 Presidential election where INEC declared the APC Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari as winner.
