A Federal High Court Abuja has nullified the Governorship Candidature of Uche Nwosu, the Son-in-Law to the Former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.
Nwosu, who contested the 2019 governorship election in the State under Action Alliance (AA) lost to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Emeka Ihedioha.
However, in a suit filed against him by Action Peoples Party , the court nullified Nwosu’s candidacy on the account of double nomination.
The court held inter-alia that the nomination of Uche Nwosu by APC AND AA on 5th and 6th of Oct 2018 amounts to multiple/double nomination and therefore offends the provisions of section 87 of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended.
