The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has enrolled his six-year-old son, Abubakar into primary one at Capital School Malali, a public school in Kaduna.
The decision was made in line with the fulfilment of his 2017 campaign promise.
The governor, who was also accompanied by his wife, Aisha Ummi on their son’s first day at school, said that he made that commitment to encourage all other political leaders to equally enrol their children in public schools.
He added that his mission is to revamp the public schools to standards that will offer better quality education.
His wife, Ummi El-Rufa’i, the mother of the child said that she is pleased with the new development because it will send a strong message to our leaders and elites that there is need to start reforms within our homes.
“By the time we start attending public hospitals and send our children to public schools, the system will get better” she said.
