The Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly,Tonye Isenah, has been impeached.
The Bayelsa State House of Assembly was invaded by hoodlums during the sitting on Monday, and violence erupted when the unknown gunmen started shooting indiscriminately.
The violence was allegedly caused by an attempt by a faction of the house to impeach the speaker who is expected to resign, following pressure mounted on him by some of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders to quit his position ahead of the November 16th governorship election.
