Nigerian international fraudster, Obinwanne Okeke, popularly known as Invictus Obi, will on Tuesday, February 16 2021, be sentenced by a Virginia Court in the United States.
Okeke, who was once listed on Forbes Africa 30 under 30, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on August 6, 2019 and later charged to court, where he pleaded guilty to two charges of Internet fraud to the tune of $11 million.
He operated under the ‘Invictus Group’ and had investments in oil and gas, agriculture, private equity, alternative energy, telecom and real estate.
Obi also had presence in three different countries including Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia.
Recall that a Federal High Court in Lagos had in December 2020, ordered the permanent forfeiture of N235,451,969 found in his bank account.
