The ban on flights from Nigeria by the United Arab Emirates has been extended till March 20, 2021.
This was contained in a statement by the public relations firm of the Emirates titled: “Update on flights to/from Nigeria to Dubai until March 20”.
The statement said, “In line with government directives, passenger services from Nigeria (Lagos and Abuja) to Dubai are temporarily suspended until 20 March 2021.
“Customers from both Abuja and Lagos will not be accepted for travel prior to or including this date. Passengers who have been to or connected through Nigeria in the last 14 days are not allowed entry into the UAE (whether terminating in or connecting through Dubai).
“We regret the inconvenience caused and affected customers should contact their booking agent or Emirates call center for rebooking.”
However, it said flights from Dubai to Lagos will still continue as scheduled.
Recall that on February 5, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority had banned the carrier from Nigeria on grounds of breaking the COVID-19 guidelines as well as introducing the rapid antigen test as a requirement for Dubai travelers as against the Nigerian government’s negative PCR requirement.
