Again, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presided over today’s virtual meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja in President Muhammadu Buhari’s absence.
Buhari is still in London for medical check-up after participating in the Global Education Summit on Financing Global Partnership for Education 2021 to 2025.
Before the FEC meeting began, a minute of silence was observed in honor of Malami Buwai, a former Minister of Agriculture, who died recently at the age of 76.
Recall that last Wednesday, Osinbajo had presided over the meeting of the council in the absence of the president.
Ministers, who were physically present at the virtual FEC meeting, were Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture; Abubakar Malami, Minister for Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation; Hajia Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning; Minister of Power, Sale Mamman and Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Works and Housing.
Also in attendance were, Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ibrahim Gambari, Chief of Staff to the President, and Babagana Monguno, National Security Adviser.
