As the July 31 deadline for the procurement of Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) draws closer few state governments have ordered for work free days to enable its residents participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, approved a four work free days for workers in the State.
The government in a statement signed by the Head of Service, Mr Hekeem Muri-Okunola, said the work free days begin from 26th July till Friday 29th July before the deadline given by the electoral body for prospective voters to get registered ends.
Also, the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has declared a three-day public holiday in the state to enable residents to complete their voter registration exercise.
The governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Muyiwa Adekeye, made the annoucement, on Tuesday.
The statement urged all eligible voters to seize the period to register so as to be in the position to exercise their voting rights.
Earlier, Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, had declared Tuesday, 26th July, 2022 as a work-free day in the state for the same reason.
