The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has been accused of collecting a bribes to the tune of N300 million from the All Progressive Congress Party (APC) to gain control of the association ahead of the 2023 general elections.
On Wednesday which is the eve of the election to swear in new NANS executives, a group of youths loyal to the Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, engaged security operatives, at the APC national secretariat in a free-for-all over plot to influence the election of the National Association of the Nigerian Students by some ‘elements’ allegedly sponsored by the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
The protest was led by Segun Dada, one of the former aspirants who stepped down for the current APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel.
There are also speculations that the swearing in may be suspended due to the crisis.
