The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has filed a suit against Kwara state governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to the Federal High Court in Abuja over alleged certificate forgery.
The party wants Abdulrazaq disqualified from the 2023 governorship election.
Its originating summons filed before Justice Inyang Ekwo also prayed for an order disqualifying the All Progressives Congress (APC) from fielding a candidate.
The PDP, in suit FHC/ABJ/CS/1324/2022 filed by its lawyer, Paul Erokoro, SAN, urged the court to make an order directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to delist Abdulrazaq.
INEC, Abdulrazaq and the APC are 1st to 3rd respondents respectively.
It prayed the court to declare that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate attached to the affidavit bears ‘RAZAQ A. R.’ and does not belong to the governor.
The case has been adjourned to Thursday October 5th for hearing.
