On Tuesday, the House of Representatives passed a bill allowing for independent candidacy in various elections.
They have requested that the bill be sent to President Muhammadu Buhari for approval.
The proposed legislation is known as constitution alteration bill No. 58.
The House also urged certain state legislatures to provide their resolutions on the bill.
This decision came after a motion was sponsored by Deputy Speaker Hon. Idris Wase, Minority Leader Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Hon. Babajimi Benson, and 76 other lawmakers.
