In the wake of the military coup that ousted President Ali Bongo in Gabon, Rwanda and Cameroon have implemented significant changes. Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame sanctioned the retirement of several high-ranking RDF generals, including senior advisor James Kabarebe.
Meanwhile, Cameroon’s President Paul Biya, who has been in power since 1975, reshuffled the military with new appointments.
The shakeup came as a response to the series of military coups that have shaken countries like Niger Republic, Mali, Sudan, Burkina Faso, and Guinea-Bissau.
This move, especially that of the 90-year-old Biya has generated reactions from concerned people.
