The Presidential Election Petitions Court has declared that the Labour Party (LP) and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, failed to provide specific evidence to support their claim of scoring the majority of lawful votes in the February 25 presidential election.
Justice Abba Bello Mohammed, delivering the lead judgment, stated that the LP made generic allegations of irregularities, suppression of votes, and corrupt practices without specifying the affected polling units.
The court further ruled that Obi failed to prove these allegations in his petition, including the claims of overvoting against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the actual reduction of votes.
