The Supreme Court has affirmed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s election victory in Lagos State, dismissing the appeal by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party.
Additionally, the court overturned the removal of Abba Yusuf as Kano Governor and Caleb Mutfwang as Governor of Plateau State, rejecting the decisions of the Court of Appeal and the tribunal.
The Supreme Court’s rulings also confirmed the victories of other governors: Alex Otti in Abia State, Francis Nwifuru in Ebonyi State , Dauda Lawal in Zamfara State , and Bala Mohammed in Bauchi State. These judgments carry significant implications for the political landscape, providing legal clarity and reaffirming the legitimacy of elected governors.
