Residents of Aba, Abia State, are celebrating 48 hours of uninterrupted power supply following the activation of the Geometric Power Plant.
Since one of the four turbines at the plant was switched on on Sunday, February 25, 2024, certain parts of Aba have been enjoying continuous electricity.
Chude, who shared a video of a resident celebrating the constant power, remarked, “Aba residents now have 24/7 electricity. Aba is currently the most vibrant city for residence and investment in Nigeria. Good governance isn’t rocket science.”
In the video, a woman can be heard saying in both English and Igbo, “The power situation in Aba is amazing! Aba to the world. How many days has it been? Look at how the air conditioners everywhere are just cooling.”
President Bola Tinubu launched the Geometric Power Plant in Aba on Monday, marking the completion of the project 20 years after its initiation by former Minister of Power, Barth Nnaji.
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, described the project as the result of visionary thinking, noting that with the power now available in Aba, the city is poised for both national and international business opportunities.
