The Delta State Police Command has successfully rescued nine students who were kidnapped along the East-West Road in Ughelli, Delta State.
According to Channels TV, the students were abducted on Monday.
Confirming the rescue, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Edafe Bright, posted on his social media handle late Monday, quoting Channels TV’s report, “All nine of the victims have regained their freedom pls.”
The students were reportedly travelling in a minibus when they were abducted.
The PPRO had informed Channels TV that the abductees “may have been students who were returning from their school in Calabar, Cross River State on Friday night.”
The bus driver was unharmed, and the kidnappers had not demanded a ransom. Police operations were swiftly initiated.
