Vigilante Groups and other Quasi Security outfits will not be allowed to play any security role in the 2019 general elections.
According to the National Security Adviser to the President, Babagana Monguno, the ban became necessary in order to prevent them being used to scuttle the electoral process.
He said Federal Government has also uncover plots by certain politicians to perpetuate widespread violence which will snowball into endless crisis for the government and citizens before, during and after the elections.
