The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission FCCPC has appealed to the Federal Government to reopen Nigeria’s borders to facilitate the legitimate importation of food items and combat hunger among citizens.
During an advocacy meeting held at the Emir’s palace in Bauchi, Acting Executive Chairman of the FCCPC, Adamu Abdullahi, reiterated that reopening borders would help stabilize market prices and ease food shortages.
Abdullahi highlighted the commission’s ongoing efforts in advocating against price gouging and unfair trade practices, aiming to sensitize stakeholders on consumer rights and how to identify counterfeit products.
The FCCPC encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and actively report any violations, ensuring that substandard products are addressed through repair, replacement, or refunds.
