Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board JAMB, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, has called on tertiary institutions to stop admitting underaged students.
Speaking at the seventh biennial conference of the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State-Owned Universities in Nigeria on Tuesday, Oloyede emphasized the need for accountability and integrity within the education system.
Oloyede cited a recent case where a 15-year-old student’s admission was questioned by a European institution due to her age. The JAMB registrar emphasized the importance of adhering to proper admission procedures, and reiterated that illegal admission of underaged students needs to be aborted.
