The Ukrainian military has introduced the “Ukrainian Legion” to recruit fighting-age men living abroad as it seeks to replenish its forces.
President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk formalized the creation of the new unit as part of a broader security agreement.
The recruitment effort focuses on Ukrainian men in Europe, particularly in Poland and Germany, where large numbers of Ukrainian refugees reside. According to AFP, the recruits will receive training in Poland and be equipped with the best gear.
