Michael Lenin, a prominent leader of the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests in the Federal Capital Territory, has been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS). Lenin was reportedly taken into custody around 2 AM at his residence in the Apo area of Abuja during a raid conducted by the security agency.
Damilare Adenola, the Director of Mobilisation for the Take It Back Movement, confirmed the arrest, alleging that Lenin was assaulted during the apprehension in front of his family. Adenola called for Lenin’s immediate and unconditional release.As of now, the DSS has not responded to requests for comments regarding the incident.
Lenin’s arrest comes amid a wave of protests across Nigeria, where demonstrators are voicing their frustrations over economic hardship and demanding accountability from the government.
