Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, are plotting to overthrow the government and establish a military regime.
Fani-Kayode characterized a video alleging such intentions as false and part of a malicious campaign to undermine the Tinubu administration.
In a post on X, Fani-Kayode stated that the video was designed to create suspicion and fear within the government ranks, aiming to provoke Tinubu into dismissing some of his most trusted appointees. He described the narrative as a “devious and vicious lie” intended to sow discord and weaken the President’s position.
He emphasized that the dissemination of fake stories and doctored videos claiming that General Musa is preparing to take over the government is a tactic to mislead the President and disrupt his administration. Fani-Kayode urged Tinubu not to fall for these manipulative tactics, reinforcing the need for unity and vigilance against disinformation.
