Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has relaxed the 24-hour curfew imposed on the Jos-Bukuru metropolis due to recent violence.
Effective from August 7, 2024, residents can now move freely between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm daily until further notice.
Similarly, the Yobe State Government has announced an easing of the curfew in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru towns following a security council meeting led by Governor Mai Buni. The new curfew hours, effective Wednesday, will be from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.
These decisions by the Plateau and Yobe state governments come after improvements in the security situation in the affected areas, which experienced unrest related to the #EndBadGovernance protests.
