In a move to restore normalcy and ease the burden on residents, the Kaduna State Government has announced the relaxation of the 24-hour curfew imposed on Kaduna and Zaria metropolitan cities. The curfew will now be effective from 6 PM to 8 AM daily, effective Thursday, August 8, 2024.
The decision was made by the Kaduna State Security Council under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, following a thorough review of the security situation in Kaduna and Zaria towns and their environs. The council unanimously agreed to relax the curfew, which was initially imposed on Monday, August 4, 2024.
The relaxation of the curfew was announced by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan. He emphasized that the curfew remains in place and is still being actively enforced by security agencies in the state.
