President Bola Tinubu and Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Mbasogo signed an agreement on the Gulf of Guinea Pipeline Project on Wednesday in Malabo, reinforcing their partnership for mutual development. The agreement encompasses various aspects, including legislative measures, pipeline ownership, and gas transit, with the goal of enhancing gas exploration and creating employment opportunities.
During a private meeting prior to the signing, both leaders discussed critical issues such as conflict resolution, food security, and the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA). Tinubu emphasized the importance of addressing Africa’s internal challenges and promoting peace and stability across the continent.
Mbasogo highlighted the significance of the long-standing bilateral relations between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea, describing the pipeline agreement as a strategic move for Africa’s development. Both nations expressed their commitment to deepening cooperation in key areas, including the vision for Africa to secure a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.
