Rumours Abaout Jammed Internet on Election Day Resurfaces
With just a couple of days to go, rumours are rife once again that the Federal Government plans to jam telecoms network on 16th of February when the Presidential and National elections will take place.
Although the Federal Government through the National Security Adviser, Babangana Monguno had refuted the claim two weeks ago, an anonymous source told RootsTv Nigeria that there are plans to shut down communication lines between 5am on Saturday and 5pm on Sunday.
The source also said the planned-shutdown was to make it impossible for use of internet and phone calls so as to cover some sinister plots.
The source informed that equipment to ensure the shut-down have been imported from Israel and were tested last week Thursday and Friday.
