Let Peoples Votes Count, Atiku Tells Buhari At Peace Accord Signing
As Presidential Candidates signed the second peace accord agreement three days to the Presidential election, the candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar has appealed to the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari to use his office to ensure that every eligible person who inks the ballot is confident that his or her vote will count.
Atiku went on to say that these polls are about the future of Nigeria, therefore, everyone involved must abide by the will of the people as freely expressed through elections, under the terms of the constitution.
He thanked the peace committee initiative just as he re-echoed former President’s Goodluck Jonathan popular quote that his “ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian”.
Atiku appealed to INEC and the Nigeria Police Force, to be fair arbiters in the upcoming elections while letting neutrality prevail saying the practice of arresting key opposition figures 24 to 48 hours before the elections should not happen.
