Youths in Oghara, the hometown of former Delta State governor James Ibori have set up bonfires around town to protest the disappearance of election material for the ongoing gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections.
Though our reporter did observe voters exercising their civic responsibilities in several parts of the community, the youths leading the protest insist that some party chieftains had hijacked the voting materials with a view to manipulating the electoral process and imposing unpopular candidate on the people. Our correspondents reports that efforts are being made by some elders in the community to calm the youths down and restore normalcy.
