In the Movito area of Kubwa, a storey building collapsed in the early hours on Saturday at about 6:40 a.m
According to the FCT Emergency Management Department, the Emergency Team arrived at the scene after a distress call was put to them at around 7. a.m.
Speaking to journalists at the site, the acting Director General of the FCT emergency Department Mrs.Florence Wegieme, alongside other emergency agencies arrived at the site and began rescue operations that led to the rescue of Four people in total, two in the hospital, while two others are in stable condition.
Mrs.Florence also confirmed that the rescue operation is still ongoing, as one person is feared to still be trapped inside the rubble.
She added that the cause of the collapse is yet to be ascertained, based on their initial assessment all things point to the use of substandard material in the construction of the building
The rescue team is still on site and Excavation has commenced.
