The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, has resigned from his position.
Nwajiuba’s resignation was announced during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.
His resignation is in line with the provisions of the amended Electoral Act 2022 and the recent order by President Buhari that all political office holders eyeing elective positions next year should resign from office on or before next Monday.
Nwajiuba is contesting for the office of the president on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Other Ministers yet to resign are those of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio; Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, and Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva.
