A one-time federal lawmaker and an influential figure in Kwara politics, Gbemisola Saraki has cautioned against complacency and unprofitable assumptions as APC prepares for the March 9th gubernatorial election in north central state of Kwara.
She is insistent that the party must not rest on her oars following its victory in the February 16th presidential and national assembly elections.
APC had cleared all three senatorial seats in Kwara defeating political giants like Gbemi’s biological brother- the incumbent senate president- Bukola Saraki of the PDP.
The former senator is however not satisfied with what the APC in Kwara had achieved thus far. In a press statement credited to her this Saturday, Gbemi- as she is fondly called by supporters- wants the party faithful to work hard and see to the election of APC candidate- AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq- in Saturday’s governorship election.
According to Saraki, the winds of change that facilitated the re-election of President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo last Saturday must remain to facilitate the emergence of progressive governors who will lead Nigeria to the next level of prosperity.
She thanked Nigerians for keeping faith with the APC- assuring that the voters’ confidence had not been misplaced as the APC candidates have the best programs and policies to uplift the people.
