President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector General of Police by three months.
This was disclosed on Thursday by the Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi, in an interview with state house correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He said the extension was to give room for the proper selection of a new IGP.
Recall that the Adamu and many other top officials of the Nigeria Police Force retired on Monday after serving the maximum number of years in the force.
With the extension, he is expected to carry out his duty until a new IGP is declared.
