A former Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Adamu Abdu-Kafarati is dead.
He died at the age of 67 years.
It was gathered that the former chief judge died in Abuja on Thursday night after observing his evening prayer.
A family source, who announced the death, said, “It is with deep sorry that I announced the passing away of our elder statesman, Hon Justice Abdul Kafarati the immediate-past Chief Justice of High Court of the Federation and former Bauchi State Attorney General which occurred this night (Thursday) after magrib Salat at Abuja.”
Kafarati began his career as a state counsel II at the Bauchi state ministry of justice where he attained the position of principal state counsel in 1987.
He also served as assistant administrator-general before he was appointed a judge of the federal high court on October 31, 1991. Kafarati was later confirmed as substantive chief judge of the court on June 7, 2018.
In July 2019, he handed over to Tsoho after attaining the mandatory statutory retirement age of 65.
