Unidentified gunmen killed a pregnant woman on Saturday and abducted her husband in the outskirts of Offa in Kwara State.
It was gathered that the deceased was shot dead inside a car driven by her husband along Ojoku road near the divisional police headquarters in Offa.
Lukman Ibrahim, the deceased’s husband, who sells and repairs phones and accessories at Owode Market, was kidnapped after his wife was killed.
The incident led to a protest by some residents, who stormed the palace of the Olofa of Offa, Muftau Gbadamosi, on Sunday, demanding the rescue of the victim.
This incident was confirmed to journalists on Sunday by the spokesperson of the Kwara State police command, Ajayi Okasanmi.
Ibrahim’s car, a grey-colored Toyota Camry, had been taken to the police station in Ojoku Road, Offa, while his wife’s corpse was deposited in the morgue of the General Hospital, Offa.
