The Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, has debunked reports saying he is planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on June 12.
On Tuesday, reports emerged that the Zamfara State Governor plans to dump the Peoples Democratic Party on June 12 as part of the ceremony to mark this year’s Democracy Day.
Reacting to this, Matawalle said he had not taken a decision or fixed a date for defecting to the APC.
Governor Matawalle has since been speculated to be eager of leaving to the APC.
The governor also denied that the recent sack of his cabinet was connected to his defection plans.
He said; “I dissolved the cabinet because after two years, it is time to reinvigorate my government for the second half of my tenure.”
