About sixty-six (66) people have been killed in different villages in Kebbi state by armed bandits.
DSP Nafiu Abubakar, the police spokesman in the state, confirmed the attack and said it took place in eight villages of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.
He stated that the actual number of victims could not be ascertained but a detachment of police officers had been dispatched to the area to restore peace.
The killings took place in Koro, kimpi, Gaya, Dimi, Zutu, Rafin Gora and Iguenge villages – all in Danko/Wasagu LG area of Kebbi State.
It was learnt that majority of the people in the affected villages had fled to the nearby town of Riba for safety.
