The Federal Government has paid a total of N9.3 billion to companies for group life insurance and death benefits for health workers.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, who said the Federal Ministry of Health has the receipt of 131 cheques totaling N159,233,234.00 from various insurance companies for 46 National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) members from 52 health facilities for group life insurance.
He added that 95 cheques are currently being processed from various insurance companies.
Ehanire said, “Currently, additional 95 cheques are being processed from various insurance companies. It is noteworthy that insurance claim is dependent on due diligence.”
