No fewer than five persons were kidnapped on Sunday night as bandits stormed Tegina in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
Recall that bandits had earlier this year kidnapped students of an Islamiyya school.
According to some sources, the gunmen invaded the community and abducted five factory workers.
The sources added that the bandits were about 10 and they were armed with AK47.
A source said, “They caught us unawares because they came on foot. We just started hearing gunshots and we ran for our lives. They went to the sachet water factory where five persons were taken away.”
Meanwhile, the Niger State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, when contacted said he was in a meeting but promised to respond later.
